The Outsiders Movie Activity: Comparison & Casting
Part 1). As you are watching the movie, create a T-chart that compares the events in the movie to the events in the plot. Chart three examples of omissions, additions or changes from the primary text to the movie version. After listing the differences, for each difference, evaluate the director’s decision to change or omit that event.
Part 2). If you were in charge of casting a modern remake of The Outsiders, who would you put in the character roles? Choose three characters from the movie/novel and cast three known actors to play these roles. For each casting choice, you must list three reasons why that individual is a good fit. You should focus on other films or other characters that your choice of actor may have been previously cast.
